Queenstown police have released images of a Chinese national missing for almost two weeks.

Kwei Ying Wong – also known as Joyce – arrived in the resort on Monday, August 18, and was due to fly home to Hong Kong on Saturday, August 23.

The 63-year-old was last seen on Camp Street outside O’Connell’s Mall at about 2.35pm that Friday, August 22.

Detective Sergeant Cameron says: “Joyce’s family, who all live overseas, are understandably very worried about her and are also appealing for help from the public”.

Wong was wearing a knee-length purple puffer-style coat with a light-coloured top underneath and had dark-coloured leggings or tights beneath calf-length, black, flat-sole boots. She was also carrying a green daypack.

Cameron’s asking anyone who may recall either speaking to or seeing Wong after August 22 to contact Queenstown Police CIB on 03 441 1625.

Information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
