Police name Queenstown victim in coma

Police have named a Queenstown assault victim who remains in an induced coma in Dunedin Hospital.

Jordan Kees Sinke, the son of Dux de Lux bar owner Richard Sinke, is in a critical but stable condition after surgery.

A police statement continues to call for more witnesses to come forward.
“This is a serious assault which could potentially have a life-changing impact for Jordan. We’re very keen to hear from anyone who has any information that might help us in the inquiry,” detective Lisa Watt says.
The alleged assault occurred between two patrons about 3am last Saturday at Subculture nightclub on Church Street in downtown Queenstown, a police statement says.

Police have talked to a number of witnesses who were in the bar at the time and inquiries are continuing.

“We’ve received some good information but we’re still keen to talk with people who were in the bar around that time,” Detective Watt says.

Any one with any information can call police on 441 1600 or call anonymously on the Crimestoppers line 0800 555 111.
