Police charge Queenstown constable

A Queenstown police officer has been charged after an internal investigation into an alleged incident involving a taxi driver.

Queenstown constable Jenny McNee faces one charge of offensive language in relation to the November 3 incident.

In a statement today, Otago Rural acting area commander and inspector Andrew Burns says a constable is scheduled to appear in Queenstown District Court on March 18.

The 43-year-old constable remains on leave without pay.

It’s understood cab camera footage of what happened has been provided to police by Queenstown Taxis.
