Playboy playmates arrive in Queenstown

Lads, we have good news – Playboy playmate Jordan Monroe has landed in Queenstown and she’s a single lady.

Monroe, 24, otherwise known as Miss October 2006, and Ashley Hobbs, 21, Miss December 2010, jetted into the resort from Los Angeles this afternoon for the 42 Below Cocktail World Cup.

Even the newly-taken Hobbs isn’t adverse to some Kiwi eye-candy.

“Every girl can window shop,” she says.

The busty blondes have a jam-packed schedule following around contenders in the week-long cocktail competition.

It won’t be all partying for the playmates – they’re responsible for keeping the Playboy website updated with the week’s antics and writing articles.

“Playboy are awesome and random,” Monroe claims. “I got called two weeks ago to come here.”

After an hour in the country, Monroe says she’s impressed with Queenstown.

“I feel like it’s not even real,” she says.

The girls headed straight to iconic Kawarau Bridge, which cocktail-making teams from around the world were throwing themselves off for their first challenge of the week-long competition.

While Hobbs was too petrified to give the bungy jump a whirl, Monroe was more game to give it a go.

Even United Kingdom-based judge Salvatore Calabrese – a veteran bartender who is opening the prestigious Playboy Club in London – threw himself off the bridge, despite having a slipped disc.

The Kiwi representatives – Aucklander Timothy Martin and partner Hannah Waters, plus Wellingtonian Johnathon Almario – will be testing out their best concoctions against three-man teams from six other countries, with the grand final on Friday.
