Spectacular Queenstown homes will be under the spotlight this weekend.
An iconic Arthurs Point home owned and designed by architect Stacey Farrell and her cameraman partner Ben Ruffell features on Living Channel TV show Best of New Zealand Home Design on Sunday night.
Farrell’s Black House is among 11 of the most interesting homes in NZ to feature on the show. Viewers vote at the end of the series to choose the best overall home.
Ruffell helped film the episode.
“I think that we are part of the show because the house is visually interesting, but more importantly it’s small, affordable and clever,” he says.
Separately, 13 local properties will be open to the public for the first time through the Queenstown leg of the NZ House & Garden charitable tour on Saturday.
Millbrook owner Eichii Ishii’s luxury holiday home is one of the palatial pads included in Saturday’s sold-out house tour. Janet and John Blair’s 12 hectare Arrowtown property – classified as a Garden of National Significance – also features. The nationwide house tour aims to raise $250,000 for the Cancer Society and women’s cancer charity Look Good Feel Better.
