NZSki extends cheap pass deadline “for Christchurch”

NZSki has extended the period snow revellers can buy an earlybird season pass “for the love of Christchurch”.

The tourism giant, which made earlybird tickets available only to locals and previous pass holders – and hiked the Queenstown Pass by $90 this season – had planned to stop selling them on March 17.

NZSki has now extended that date till April 14 “in order to help out our friends from Christchurch and everyone who’s been affected by the earthquake”.

Mt Hutt adult passes cost $699, while the Queenstown Pass for NZSki’s two Wakatipu mountains Coronet Peak and The Remarkables cost $889.

Some Queenstowners have claimed they’ll boycott local NZSki slopes because of the rises and Facebook pages opposing the season pass jump also sprang up after the earlybird prices were announced last month.
