Adventure logistics: Trail Connect operator Jason Hall with one of his shuttle vans and his dog, Char

By PHILIP CHANDLER

A new transport operation, Trail Connect, is shuttling people to Queenstown-Lakes and Central Otago trails for biking, hiking and running.

Former local pro triathlete and elite runner Jason Hall, who now lives near Wanaka
but also does pick-ups in Queenstown, says he’s offering affordable transport to any trail people want to do.

One option, he says, is Wanaka’s ‘‘really cool’’ new Glendhu bike park, while another, coming onstream January, is the spectacular Lake Dunstan Trail from Cromwell to Clyde — ‘‘it’s going to be sick’’.

‘‘People could drive their cars to Cromwell but they’d need transport back to Cromwell once they get to Clyde.’’

Hall — who has 11- and seven-seater vans — says he’ll refer clients to bike hire operators, ‘‘then we’ll just do the transport side of things’’.
