New spin queen for Queenstown council

Queenstown Lakes District Council has a new spin doctor.

New council senior communication advisor Michele Poole started last Monday, in a new role created as part of the restructure.

Poole, formerly regional council Environment Southland’s Invercargill-based communications boss for seven years, has been a longtime property owner in the Wakatipu.

The 53-year-old’s arrival comes hard on the heels of former council communication assistant Jo Blick’s departure - she went off to Wellington to become a speechwriter for the Governor General.

Ex-council communications supremo Meaghan Miller is now the loftily-titled director of council chief executive Adam Feeley’s office.
