A Wakatipu High school leaver who’s excelled at academic work and volunteering has won a $1000 scholarship run by Queenstown’s Returned and Services’ Association (RSA).

The annual David Geddes Memorial Scholarship — in honour of the late David Geddes, who helped revive the branch in 2005 — was recently presented to Zoe Barham, 17.

She’s pictured with Geddes family representative Jayden Wilson, left, and RSA president Phil Wiel.

Zoe is studying business and psychology at Wellington’s Victoria University next year.

Along with voluntary roles, she’s got extensive behind-the-scenes theatre experience, has been a STARS peer mentor for Year 9 students and was selected this year for the primary sector’s GirlBoss programme.
