Queenstown-based film star Sam Neill hosted a dinner during Monday’s launch of a local alliance of luxury providers.
Queenstown Prestige – comprising five high-end accommodation providers, three retailers, two transport operators and a winery – put on a moving feast for leading luxury agents and travel media in the resort for the TRENZ tourism expo.
Venues were a luxury Queenstown Hill property operated by Touch of Spice, Eichardt’s Private Hotel, Sofitel and the private EBIT bar in The Mountaineer building.
Neill introduced his local Two Paddocks wines to guests during dinner at a Sofitel penthouse suite and also regaled them with anecdotes.
“It was an excellent evening, with Queenstown at its best,” Neill says.
Eichardt’s general manager Holly Taylor adds: “Our aim was to get across a clear and consistent message from a like-minded group of businesses working together that we know the true meaning of luxury, and I think we more than did that.”
