A Wanaka man faces charges after allegedly threatening to kill an “associate” after an incident in Frankton last night.
Sergeant Kate Pirovano, of Queenstown, says the 37-year-old attacked another man about 10pm but he was not injured.
“The men had been socialising and alcohol was involved.”
Police couldn’t confirm the age of the victim but say he lived locally.
The Wanaka man will be charged with threatening to kill, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon and wilful damage.
Meanwhile, a 24-year-old man slapped a female when he was refused entry to a pub in Queenstown on Saturday night.
The man became abusive and aggressive and had to be restrained, Sgt Pirovano says.
He will be charged with male assaults female following the incident at Surreal, in Rees Street, at 11.40pm.
