A Cromwell man has been charged with indecent assault after allegedly touching women’s bottoms at a Queenstown concert
The 42-year-old was arrested at the Gibbston Valley Summer Concert on Saturday afternoon. Police officers spotted him allegedly touching a woman’s bottom, who slapped his hand away.
Senior Constable Sean Drader says: “When she realised police had noticed she told them he had done it three times before.
“Then while he was being spoken to by officers at least two other women came up and said he had been lying down next to them, kissing them and touching their bottoms.”
The man, who works as a driver, was charged with two counts of indecent assault and is due to appear in court.
Up to 15000 people attended the concert to watch headliners Pat Benatar, Bachman & Turner and America.
Police arrested three other people for alleged drunken or threatening behaviour.
