Plunket’s hardy-perennial Wakatipu garden tour

Wakatipu Plunket’s annual garden tour next Sunday again offers an exclusive look at some of the area’s most enchanting gardens.

The fundraiser supports Plunket’s services which benefit the likes of, from left, Oliver Finlayson, 3, Sophie Boe, 19 months, and Oliver’s twin brother, Taylor.

They’re pictured at Mitre 10 Mega which is offering a $1000 garden makeover package to a lucky ticket buyer.

A $35 ticket, or $40 on the day, buys a self-drive tour of almost 10 gardens – some new ones and some old favourites.

Ticket-holders can pick up a map from Mitre 10 Mega from 9am on November 25.

At one garden there’ll be a landscape architect offering advice.

For $65, there’s also the option of a tour on a vintage Remarkable Experience bus which exclusively visits several other gardens, and includes lunch at one venue.

From 2 till 4pm, garden attendees are invited to Thurlby Domain, on Speargrass Flat Road.

There’ll be afternoon tea, a photo booth, face painting, silent auction and the drawing of an ‘Ultimate Queenstown Experience’ raffle prize worth $2000-plus.

Garden tour tickets are for sale at Plunket’s rooms in Queenstown’s Henry Street and at Queenstown i-SITE Visitor Information Centre.
