Queenstown’s professional fire dancers are unveiling new toys to create a “visual delight” at this Saturday’s Arrowtown Street Party.
Pictured from left are Flame Fire Productions’ Angela Constable, Milly Begley and Richard Lambert, who’ll be
stepping out for their first public performance in two years.
Alongside their usual tricks with fire fans, umbrellas and swords, the trio will introduce whips and hula hoops to their 10-minute display on Buckingham Green.
Flame director Begley says they’ve been practising for the last month for the Buckingham Street party, which celebrates the NZ Golf Open and the Motatapu Icebreaker race this weekend. “We’re really excited,” she says.
“We’re wanting to put on a good show for them.”
The day starts at 10am with wine tastings and loads of good food at street stalls. The party gets into full swing from 5.30pm with live bands – the fire dancers are scheduled to light up the crowd from 10pm.
