Film Queenstown boss Kevin “KJ” Jennings has spoken about his zero waste programme to a film commissioners’ conference in France.
Jennings (second right) is pictured with film office reps (from left) Kevin Clarke, US, John Brinkins, Scotland, Rhodni Skelton, British Virgin Islands, and Harvey Edgington, England, outside the Paris City Hall.
Jennings is also executive manager of Film Otago Southland and on Film NZ’s board.
His trip to France last week to his fifth Cineposium was funded by a professional development scholarship he won at a Los Angeles locations trade show in June.
Jennings’ ground-breaking zero waste programme – introduced during the local filming of X-Men Origins: Wolverine in 2008 – was inspired by attending his first Cineposium in Santa Fe, US.
Association of Film Commissioners International boss Martin Cuff comments: “It is wonderful that things have come full circle and it is now Kevin teaching the rest of the world about the practical steps and tangible results of sustainability that Film Otago Southland has introduced to the film production process.”
