A Kiwi celebrity chef has joined forces with Wakatipu caterers at an unlikely venue – a Queenstown car workshop.
MasterChef New Zealand judge Ray McVinnie, in conjunction with local caterers Flying Trestles, entertained around 100 people with a special demonstration of some of his famous dishes at Queenstown Motor Group at Frankton last Thursday.
On the menu were lamb cutlets with butter bean puree and a Spanish dessert, Torrades de Santa Teresa.
The Flying Trestles worked behind the scenes recreating the meals for each guest to try.
McVinnie says he was impressed with the evening.
Flying Trestles co-owner David Arnold says cooking in a car workshop was no obstacle, and the event was a “great success.”
