Queenstown ladies are being challenged to transform themselves into catwalk models within three months.

The popular Ladies Fashion Challenge returns again to Winter Festival this year.

But the event – which culminates in a catwalk show – has had something of a make-over itself.

Now titled the Alpine Health & Fitness Lifestyle Challenge, it is open to women of all shapes, sizes and ages.

The 12 successful applicants will take part in a three-month lifestyle make-over.

They’ll be given fitness training, nutrition advice, catwalk and deportment classes, hair and make-up styling – all aimed at making them catwalk ready.

Festival director Simon Green says: “During the 12 weeks participants are professionally coached towards a common goal.

“That is to feel fit and fabulous and walk the catwalk with style and confidence in front of friends, family and supporters.”

The challengers will be trained by Funktional Fitness with support from the entire team at Alpine Health & Fitness based out at the Events Centre.

Hush and Heaven will provide hair and make-up. And local fashion house Decode will provide clothing and style for the catwalk with additional support from Lulu Lemon, Overland and Queenstown School of Dance.

Full information packs are available online at winterfestival.co.nz. An information evening will be held at the Queenstown Events Centre on Monday, March 19, 6pm. Applications close Friday, March 23, with training beginning on April 2.
