Staff from a Queenstown hotel aren’t just putting the ‘mo’ into Movember – they’ve shaved their heads as well.
Crowne Plaza’s finest (from left) leisure concierge Nathan Wise, concierge Steve Hanrahan, general manager Matt Anderson and maintenance man Rambabu Engiddaraman took the clippers to each other this week. Wise did the honours for Anderson.
Their bold move marks the start of this year’s annual prostate cancer fundraiser which sees participants cultivating monster moustaches during November.
Anderson decided to go one further and get the nut-cuts.
“We thought we should take it to the next level and raise more money.”
His wife’s not so enthused, though – “She’s not happy, but we’ll take one for the team. It’s coming into summer so that’s okay”.
The hotel is well stocked with boxes for donations going to New Zealand Cancer Society and Mental Health Foundation of NZ.
“So people know why there’s a bunch of blokes walking around here with shaved heads.”
