Association Education Minister Nikki Kaye has announced funding for six new classrooms at Arrowtown School.

The $2.4 million investment is in response to steady school roll and population growth.

The classrooms will open early next year and will be built to the latest learning environment standards, Kaye says.

The classrooms come on top of other Government investment in local schooling.

Three teaching spaces were recently added to Frankton’s Remarkables Primary School.

Construction has begun on the new Shotover Primary School at the Shotover Country subdivision.

Planning is also underway to relocate Wakatipu High to Frankton’s Remarkables Park by 2018.

“The Queenstown Lakes District can be assured that the Government is investing to future-proof Queenstown for the many young families that want to live there,” Kaye says.
