Local powderhound Garry Forest gets ready to dive on to TradeMe to bid for a 2009 season pass offered by Queenstown-based skifield operator NZSki.
From 5pm today, the company will be auctioning 10 Queenstown passes for local fields Coronet Peak and The Remarkables, and another 10 for Canterbury’s Mt Hutt. The auction will close at the same time next Thursday.
All 10 passes have a reserve of just 1c.
NZSki will also launch its month-long Early Bird online season pass deals next Thursday.
The TradeMe auction will be “a fun way of getting people involved and raising awareness of the coming season and sales period”, says NZSki sales and marketing boss David Ovendale.
“We think people might like to go and see if they can land a spectacular deal.
And it’ll be great fun watching what happens.”
Last year’s Early Bird Queenstown adult pass was $699.
