Overweight Queenstowners – Alpine Health and Fitness wants you.

The Frankton facility is looking for 10 locals – who need to shift at least 25kgs – to join a free eight-week health and fitness makeover.

“We are working hard to reach those people who need the most help to get active and improve their fitness,” the centre’s health and fitness manager Richie Heap says.

“We were inundated with applicants for the programme we ran last October, but there are limited places due to resource constraints so it’s essential that the people selected are the ones who will make the most of it.

“When a lot of very deserving applicants miss out, the people who get the opportunity to participate have to do so knowing they owe it to not only themselves, but everyone else to give it their all.”

Selected punters wanting to shed pounds will attend nutritional seminars, see a physiotherapist and podiatrist, and receive two personal training sessions each week.

They’ll also get unlimited free access to Alpine Health & Fitness and Alpine Aqualand for 3 months.

Vicki Paddon was named the inaugural weightloss‘winner’ last year – originally a size 16, she trimmed down to size 10.

People have until April 21 to register.
