Ferg loves you: Fergburger boss Steve Bradley, right, and staffers Bishal Shrestha and Rosie Simmons

By MATTHEW MCKEW

Fergburger’s Queenstown doors will swing open again today.

The world famous burger bar’s known for its long lines, stretching up the street, but general manager Steve Bradley doesn’t expect the normal queue after it opens at 8am.

“We are expecting a fairly busy first few days and then the new reality.

“We have got a very long road back, some very quiet times and expect to see our friendly, smiley locals.”

Bradley says Fergburger has taken a few extra days to prepare after New Zealand moved to Alert Level 3, with staff coming in to clean and repaint the venue, as well as planning for a change in operation.

“I don’t think there’s any rush for this, it’s about putting our staff first, our safety and systems.

“We have got to go back 15 years and redesign everything in the way we operate.”

Ferg fans will be able to order by phone or online, then collect their food from a pick-up window.

Bradley says customers will be given a time to arrive and be asked to respect other customers’ space.
