Extreme climber at film fest

One of the world’s top extreme sportsmen and climbers will give a guest lecture to open a film festival showing in Queenstown on Sunday.

Tim Emmett (right), who recently knocked off the world’s toughest ice climb, opens proceedings at Memorial Hall at 6.30pm. After that, seven short films spanning two hours will showcase award-winning climbing, boarding, skiing, base-jumping and kayaking feats from around the world.

A new movie on Wakatipu-based aviation junkie Chuck Berry is included. Tickets are $30 and doors open from 5pm.
