Queenstown Tennis Club members Lucy Robins and James Penwell – aka famous players Suzanne Lenglen and Andre Agassi – warm up for next Friday’s club centenary celebrations at the Gardens courts.
Tennis enthusiasts, whether club members or not, are encouraged to come dressed as their favourite player from the last 100 years, with prizes for the best dressed male and female.
The programme includes exhibition matches from 6.30pm, an auction of both a shirt signed by Agassi when he visited town last year and a mounted tennis ball signed by Rafael Nadal, plus the cutting of a birthday cake.
Food and drink will be available for purchase, and there’ll be a special presentation of honorary and life memberships.
Doors open 5.30pm.
