A Queenstown-based national charity’s donated these wheels — a brand-new Kia Sportage — to help the Cancer Society’s Central Otago team support people affected by cancer.
From left, Hugo Charitable Trust chairman Mark Owens and trust donations officer Kayleigh Blythen are pictured with Cancer Society acting regional CEO Bob King and the society’s new Central Otago-Queenstown Lakes support care team leader, Janeen Holmes.
King says: ‘‘The Hugo Charitable Trust’s donation is extremely timely, and we are so grateful as referrals continue to grow in Central Otago.
‘‘Our goal is never to turn anyone away from receiving our support, and this new vehicle will assist us in achieving this goal.’’
Owens says his trust’s thrilled to provide practical, on-the-ground support.
‘‘The Cancer Society offers such a valuable service, providing free support in people’s homes and developing individualised plans that suit them and their support needs wherever they are on the cancer continuum.’’
