Dog has its day predicting snow dump

New Zealand’s famous “animal oracle” predicts snow will fall this weekend.

Dalefield sheepdog Jo – tasked with forecasting the results of All Blacks matches at the upcoming Rugby World Cup for TV3’s Campbell Live – reckons the white stuff will appear on Saturday or Sunday.

The psychic collie, owned by Dalefield farmer Chris Dagg, has already correctly guessed the outcome of four Tri Nations rugby matches.

The dog was also right when she tipped Vanessa van Uden to win last year’s local mayoral race.

“Jo has never been wrong yet,” Dagg insists.

Local meteorologist David Crow is barking up the same tree – Crow says there’s a “slight” dump expected tomorrow and Saturday but not enough to open the skifields.

However, Crow ominously adds: “I can’t see winter properly coming till July.”
