Police divers plunge into Queenstown Bay on Tuesday trying to solve the mystery of a Hungarian man who went missing while kayaking on Lake Wakatipu last week.
Five divers from the Wellington-based national dive squad also braved the icy depths again yesterday, checking large underwater objects identified on sonar.
Gellert Csaba Mudra, 41, was last seen paddling in a hired kayak in the bay about 4.45pm last Friday. The kayak was found floating, with the paddle and lifejacket stowed inside, about 6pm.
Neither the divers, land-based civilian and police searchers or helicopter sweeps have uncovered any clues about Mudra’s disappearance.
