Designer deals from the bargain bin

Dedicated followers of local fashion will jump at the chance to pick up designer clothing at bargain prices this weekend.

Local designers Claire Brinsley (left) – behind fashion label Claire Bloom – and Francesca King – who produces Smith & Western – are among several well-known brands to sell their garments at discounted prices at Arrowtown Hall on Saturday.

Others include Kingston’s Jane Sutherland, 3 Bags Full, children’s label Scarlett & Victor, Red Design and Queenstown store Decode.

The popular annual sale, which has been running for more than five years, attracts many women eager for a deal. “It’s an opportunity for us to reward locals who have supported us throughout the year,” Brinsley says.
King adds: “There are plenty of popular styles and it’s a chance to preview new ranges.”

The sale runs from 9am to 6pm. A sneak-peak will also be held at the hall tomorrow from 5-7pm.
