Dancers wanted: Dancer and choreographer Anna Stuart

By PHILIP CHANDLER

Queenstown dance studio owner Anna Stuart’s looking for 50 to 100 trained or non-
trained dancers to help put together a mega dance performance.

She’s been chosen to perform a new piece, ‘Tahi Aroha’, for Three Lakes Cultural Trust’s free community arts celebration, RenewArt.

Embracing the theme of ‘renewal’, she says it ‘‘stems from the power of dance to bring people together, even through separation’’.

Befitting these times, dancers will be filmed in front of their computer screens via Zoom.

Stuart’s calling for passionate dancers who can follow simple choreography — men
and women, aged 16-plus — to contact her at anna@devos.co.nz

Rehearsal and filming, spanning just a few hours, runs from Saturday till Monday.

RenewArt, featuring 20 visual artists and 21 performing arts groups, takes place at
Queenstown Events Centre on October 9 and 10 and at Lake Wanaka Centre the following
Friday and Saturday.
