Cops put call out to theft victims

Queenstown police want to hear from people who’ve had items stolen but haven’t reported the thefts.

An alleged serial offender was nabbed in Christchurch yesterday (Monday) and cops have charged him with two burglaries and six thefts from vehicles in the Wakatipu.

“It appears the alleged offender has been mobile throughout the South Island, passing through Queenstown periodically to commit offences of this nature,” acting detective sergeant Grant Miller says.

Some items recovered from the 31-year-old man haven’t been reported, he says.

Members of the public who’ve had things such as I-Pods and cash taken from vehicles or houses in the past two months should contact police, Miller says.
