An Australian convention group donated almost $10,000 to the Arrowntown community for a rousing welcome on Monday night.
Arrowtowners donned period costumes for a History Alive experience to welcome 150 conference-goers from the Australian Shop and Office Fitting Industry Association.
And so impressed the Aussie visitors, they held a spur-of-the-moment fundraiser.
History Alive director Emma Pullar says they were absolutely blown away by the generosity of the ASOFIA group and organisers are still deciding who to dish the money out to.
“Right now we think we’ll give some to the Arrowtown preschool, seeing as the kids are always such an integral part of the show and do such a great job,” Pullar says.
