Classical climate change support

A group of Queenstown musicians will play for a good cause this weekend.

Pictured (front, from left) are opera singer Tamaki Iida, pianist Kana Takahashi and violinist Natsuko Okazaki and (back, right) pianist/guitarist/violinist Jamie Relton – they and others are playing classical and folk music in a fundraising concert for Sofia Robinson (back left).

Robinson is going to the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Qatar this month, one of five Kiwis picked for the New Zealand Youth Delegation, which provides a voice on the youth climate movement at the UN climate change negotiation.

Robinson’s raised about $4000 for her trip so far and hopes to raise the rest at this weekend’s concert, which includes a silent auction, at Mountfort Gallery on Saturday from 5.30pm.

Tickets are $25 and include a glass of wine.
