Designer clothes and afternoon tea combined for a charity fashion fundraiser today.
About 80 people watched as local ladies modelled the latest summer styles from Wakatipu designers Tamsin Cooper, Jane Sutherland, Nine Body Coverage and Claire Bloom at the Distinction Nugget Point Hotel.
Organiser of the Queenstown Designers Afternoon Tea Party, and Collective hair salon owner Deborah Coburn, says the fashion showcase was a great gathering for local women of all ages.
“It’s just been a fabulous celebration of women,” Coburn says.
In contrast to other fashion shows, the models covered a wide range of ages, shapes and sizes.
Afternoon tea party-goers shelled out $45 each, with money raised from ticket sales – about $2400 – going towards drop-in centre Happiness House.
Funds raised from a silent auction went to the Citizens Advice Bureau.
