Creeksyde Holiday Park owners Erna and Tonni Spijkerbosch are rumoured to have won the management contract for council-owned Lakeview Holiday Park.

Councillors voted to stop running high-end campgrounds in February and 10 parties filed expressions of interest for the Cemetery Road site.

Two parties were in talks with council.

Council chief executive Adam Feeley: “No comment at the moment. We’re working on proposals for the campground and nothing has been finalised.”

Erna, who declined to comment yesterday, is a former president of the Holiday Parks Association of New Zealand and ex-Destination Queenstown chairwoman.
