It’s struggling to make a buck but Lasseters Wharf Casino appears here to stay.
The Singapore-owned operation has a conditional contract to buy the adjacent Boardwalk Seafood Restaurant.
Unlike its SkyCity rival, the Wharf hasn’t had a restaurant to date.
Boardwalk co-owner Grant Jackson, who started as the restaurant’s original chef 16 years ago, says because of the casino connection the Lasseters buy-up needs Government regulatory approvals.
“It could be next week or next year,” he says.
Boardwalk, which can seat 120 people, is most famous for serving former US President Bill Clinton when he visited the resort in 1999.
