Thrill-seeking adventure activities aren’t the only businesses targeted for an industry forum on safety next week.
The second annual Adventure Tourism Forum is also relevant to businesses like coach operators and other companies that might not be seen as typically risky, Destination Queenstown chairman Mark Quickfall says.
“What do we call adventure? I guess some people see going on the Earnslaw quite adventurous.
“It would be sensible to suggest it suits any business that has any risk profile – any operation really. I’d be encouraging anyone in tourism that needs to have some form of crisis plan in place to come along.”
The free talk, organised by DQ, the Tourism Industry Association New Zealand and Queenstown Lakes District Council will be held next Wednesday from 6.30-9pm at the Memorial Hall.
It follows last year’s first local forum, held in response to the Government’s decision to conduct an industry-wide review. Results of the Government review will be discussed at the talk.
