A Queenstown-based skydiving company has clocked up 20 years providing adrenaline junkies with highs.
Nzone Skydive – the first commercial tandem skydiving operation in New Zealand – set up shop in October 1990 and has since dished out thrills to more than 170,000 guests from their sites at Queenstown and Rotorua.
The company now has 40 fulltime skydivers on its payroll – a long way from their original staff levels, operation general manager and co-owner Robynne Williams says.
“We started with just three staff members at our base in a paddock at Jardine’s farm, near Queenstown.
“Over the past 20 years we have grown year-on-year to become a world-renowned, multi-awarded tourism adventure operation that knows a whole lot about providing the highest level of customer satisfaction,” Williams says.
Nzone has won a string of awards, including the New Zealand Tourism Industry Association’s ‘Supreme Award’ and was recently ranked the most popular activity in Queenstown by website tripadvisor.com.
Punters brave enough to launch themselves from an Nzone Skydive plane can jump from 9000, 12,000 and 15,000 feet.
