The Wakatipu has a new mobile food operator – serving up a healthy takeaway option.
Longtime Japanese Arrowtowner Suma Ito-Sheehan has started the aptly-named Suma’s Sushi, offering home
deliveries. Ito-Sheehan is also operating a caravan to sell meals at special events.
Ito-Sheehan paid $17,000 for the caravan in Napier which was trucked to Christchurch before she drove it the rest of the way to Queenstown. It’s kitted out with an oven, rice cooker, fridge and solar panel.
Suma’s Sushi caravan will be a fixture at the Remarkables Market plus the NZ PGA golf pro-am at The Hills, the Motatapu finish line in Arrowtown, the Autumn Festival and other events.
Deliveries must be phoned in by 8pm the previous day – prices include $8 or $9 for eight pieces and $4 to $4.50 for an uncut half roll, which is equal to four pieces and can be eaten like a kebab.
All sushi is made fresh the same day of delivery.
