A couple formerly involved in the luxury yachting industry are now helming the first major accommodation complex in Queenstown’s wine region.
Lizzie Irving, from the Scottish borders, and Adam Ross, from Christchurch, are the new general managers of Kinross Cottages in Gibbston.
Kinross, which comprises seven luxurious cottages and the General Store, including a cellar door for five local wineries, opened in November last year.
Irving was previously sales and marketing manager for luxury yachting company Bluewater and Ross is an experienced yacht chef.
Irving says they’re delighted to join the Kinross team.
“We can’t wait to help this project grow.
“The cottages are beautiful and there’s so much potential here.
“Queenstown ticked all of our boxes, we love being outdoors, we love adventure and winter sports, so it’s a perfect match.”
Co-owner Christine Erkkila adds: “Lizzie and Adam have joined Kinross at an exciting time.
“All of our infrastructure is in place and we can now provide everything that a guest might need when they visit.
“We’ve just unveiled our children’s play area and we’ve got everything from great local food and drink to giftware and even outdoor pilates.”
Erkkila believes the new managers’ combined experience and energy will help take Kinross to the next level.
