Arrowtowner Courtney Johnstone and Queenstowner Mark Moran (pictured) unpack a toaster before opening their kitchen store, Mooch, at Frankton’s Remarkables Park.
Moran says Mooch – opening today – focuses on high-quality kitchenware brands, along with linen, homeware and “other interesting things”.
“I think we are bringing something that locals have been crying out for.”
Moran also owns Queenstown galleries Kapa Design and Toi o Tahuna. Johnstone was formerly practice manager at Queenstown Physiotherapy.
Also opening this week in the new $9 million Building 10, developed by shopping centre owner Diversified NZ Property Fund, are book chain Whitcoulls and sportwear franchise Canterbury of New Zealand, which is switching locations at Remarkables Park.
Also in the wings are Australasian cafe chain The Coffee Club and multinational optometry firm Specsavers.
