Queenstown booze baron Al Spary’s Good Group is quitting its “Travelling Goodbar” at a knock-down price.
An ad on Trade Me reads: “Avail-able for immediate sale. Cost $550,000 to build but selling for only $200,000.”
The portable watering hole is “fully set up with every possible extra” and “can be operated virtually anywhere”, the blurb continues.
The mobile bar is also being promoted in national newspapers.
Potential buyers are invited to “contact owner direct” on Spary’s mobile phone.
Putting the portable bar on the market follows Good Group’s sale last month of the lease of Arrowtown’s 145-year-old New Orleans Hotel.
Spary’s remaining hospitality empire includes five popular bars in Queenstown’s CBD, the burgeoning Betty’s Liquor chain of bottlestores and the upmarket Botswana Butchery restaurant on Marine Parade.
