Lucy Johnson isn’t married but she’s hooked on weddings.
The 26-year-old graphic designer, who’s always loved “making cards and playing with paper”, is branching out into wedding stationery. She’s creating customised pieces, including save-the-date cards, invitations and menus.
Johnson recently decided to turn her hobby into a part-time money-spinner, launching self-titled business Lucy Joanna.
“The idea of having something so personal for a couple, it’s quite a challenge and I really want to create something that will be a memory for them and their guests,” says Johnson, who came to Queenstown about six months ago.
She says orders – which she hopes to attract from New Zealand and overseas via her website – take about four weeks to complete and cost upward of $8 per invitation.
