Queenstown’s Jaimie Stodler reckons she’s got a recipe for success with her tasty new business venture.
The 33-year-old opens her Cup and Cake Queenstown store tomorrow in Searle Lane – it’ll sell fresh, handmade cupcakes and a variety of teas.
Canadian Stodler, who has a background in business and commerce, is also a self-trained foodie who’s worked in professional kitchens. She’s proud of the fact that she’s sourced all her ingredients locally and they are as organic as possible.
“It’s about this beautiful little business working with everything local and selling to people who are in Queenstown. It’s about the Wakatipu.”
The mum-of-one plans to sell retail and wholesale – catering to special functions like conferences and weddings.
“I absolutely love food and I love feeding people. I see my job being about making people’s day.”
Stodler hopes to grow the business and open stores in other cities. Her second shop is planned for Remarkables Park next year.
