It’s the power of two

Promotion outfits’ merger ‘prudent’.

A merger of two Queenstown businesses to create the resort’s first one-stop promotion shop is a “prudent” step in the economic downturn.

Design agency Fluid Visual Communications will acquire marketing consultancy The Brand Movement next month in a bid to strengthen what the two companies have to offer.

TBM is owned by Leigh Jeffrey and Tim Buckley. Jeffrey’s selling her share of the business to Buckley – who also owns Fluid.

Jeffrey becomes a minority shareholder of Fluid and will take up roles in business development and account management, while Buckley becomes creative director of the combined firm.

The amalgamation will enable the merged entity to deal with clients needing complete company branding, design, communication channelling and advertising placement.

The move equips the new outfit to face tough financial times but the recession isn’t the reason behind the merger, says Jeffrey.

“We feel that we are being quite prudent in doing this – we feel like we end up [with] a stronger service that we can be providing [to clients].

“Our clients are all going to be feeling that in the next year ahead and we are wanting to make sure when they come to us [that] they are getting an even stronger service than before.”
