Rental car company Hertz has expanded its Queenstown Airport operations with a new service centre.
The service centre, officially opened last week, includes 130 parking bays – a fourfold increase on the company’s previous airport facility.
The car preparation and maintenance space has also doubled.
The new Hertz facility is now Queenstown’s car rental base and was timed to be ready for the upcoming ski season.
“Our operations in the Queenstown region are increasing and effective immediately this major new facility will enable us to be even more efficient in meeting the needs of the growing number of leisure and business customers,” Hertz New Zealand country manager Mark Righton says.
Queenstown Airport chief executive Scott Paterson welcomes Hertz’ expansion, coinciding as it does with a 29 per cent increase in flights this winter above last year’s winter.
