Yet another Queenstown bar boss has had his licence temporarily revoked.
Pig & Whistle’s Brent Edgerton has lost his general manager’s certificate for four weeks from Monday this week after being pinged by the Alcohol Regulatory & Licensing Authority.
His is the latest in a string of bans to hit local bar bosses during the past few weeks.
Including Edgerton’s, the licences of seven bar managers have been temporarily revoked for a range of offences dating back as far as June last year.
The suspension of Edgerton’s bar licence results from his conviction in January for driving in Queenstown with an excess alcohol reading of 649mcgs – the limit is 400mcgs.
Edgerton was fined $640 plus costs and disqualified from driving for six months.
The suspension was initiated by local police liquor licensing sergeant Linda Stevens, with the bar boss consenting to his four-week ban.
