Brat splatters a hotel room with paint

Police want to trace these three characters in connection with a break-in and vandalism at the Oaks apartments in the early hours of New Year’s Day.

The trio entered the Frankton Road building through an unopened door about 3.15am and one lad was captured on CCTV throwing a bucket of paint around in a room they’d entered, splattering the walls and floor.

“The paint was taken from a maintenance area in the basement and a real mess was made with it,” Drader says.

“We’d like to hear from anyone who may know who these people are.”

Cops are on the lookout for a thug who allegedly shot a 36-year-old Queenstown man in the forehead with an airgun fired from a passing car at 6.30pm last Thursday.

“The victim was sitting outside Red Rock bar when he was shot at twice,” constable Sean Drader observes.

“One pellet hit him on the head and another went over his shoulder.

“It’s believed there were four passengers in the electric blue 1980s vehicle and we’d like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or knows anything about it.”

Drader adds: “This could have been very serious.”

Attacked in bed

A Christchurch man, 18, has been charged with assault after he allegedly punched an Arrowtown lad, 15, through an open window while he was still in his bed.

“Apparently the victim’s friends came to see him because they were having some trouble with the offender who was intoxicated,” Drader says.

“Somehow, the offender then allegedly punched him in the head through the window.”

The incident happened just before midnight last Wednesday.

Finger lickin’ bad

A 19-year-old woman from Invercargill has been charged with assault after she allegedly attacked a local girl, 18, outside KFC in Camp Street at 11pm last Thursday.

“The victim said the alleged offender had been in a purple Honda car when the unprovoked incident occurred,”
Drader comments.

“The victim was with three friends when she was apparently approached by the woman, who slapped her on the face.”
