Queenstown Primary School’s now got a swish new entranceway thanks to $400,000 of government funding.
Board member Richie Heap says if they hadn’t had this amount from the 2019 ‘school investment package’, they’d have had to fundraise for the work.
Pictured with principal Fiona Cavanagh are, from left, pupils Ava Uys, 7, Isabel Spearman, 7, Kara Brink, 6, Maia Amor Smith, 6, Neava Spijkerbosch, 7, Willa Pringle, 7, Chloe Broughton, 7, and Jack Broughton, 5.
Cavanagh says ‘‘the entrance is now much wider to accommodate 700 students, it’s safer, and it’s shown off our school sign, which makes it clearer for the community’’.
