Buyer interest and building activity are increasing at Queenstown’s high-end Bendemeer estate above Lake Hayes.
Marketing executive Sarah Cairns is buzzing after more than 50 people turned up for Labour Weekend open days.
Attendees were mainly locals, Southlanders and Aucklanders, she says.
“This was a great result for a bare land-focused open day and we’re really starting to see real traction and growing interest in the development.
“It was reassuring to see potential buyers not only considering Bendemeer to potentially build their next home but as an investment opportunity as well.”
Expat Kiwi Alistair Jeffery’s Mount Farm Ventures bought Bendemeer’s 23 unsold lots last year.
They’re priced from $650,000 to $1 million-plus for sites from 0.5ha to 2ha-plus.
Local agencies Ray White and Professionals Fisken & Associates have been appointed to sell the lots.
Ray White Arrowtown’s Michael Tierney says Aucklanders in particular are showing interest.
“They’re searching for alternative lifestyles and the airport’s got a lot to do with that.”
In addition to several sales, two building sites are commencing.
Construction of a showhome designed by Dunedin’s Mason & Wales Architects also starts in January.
