Barbara’s school of dance

Queenstown will get a second bite at some live action from contestants from the hit TV show Dancing with the Stars.

Former All Black Josh Kronfeld and dance partner Rachel Burstein were first to display some nifty footwork while on a visit to the resort in February.

Now Kiwi sports legend Barbara Kendall will thrill Wakatipu High kids with some dazzling dance moves.
The former world champion and Olympic gold medal-winning boardsailor performs with her Dancing with the Stars partner Jonny Williams at the school at 11am tomorrow.

Kendall arrived in Queenstown this week for the Oceania National Olympic Committees talkfest.

But while here, she thought she’d get some extra training in for the TV One show – and give Wakatipu High pupils a treat at the same time.

“I’ve spoken at the school a number of times as a Sport & Recreation ambassador,” the 1992 golden Olympian says.

“So I thought this would be a great opportunity for Jonny and I to dance for the students.”

Kendall and Williams stormed into the last four couples remaining in Dancing with the Stars on Tuesday night and the duo is now one of the hot favourites to win the series.

Kronfeld and Burstein are also still in the running.
